Verbal Autopsy Data Analysis Workshops
- Role
- Teaching assistant, OpenVA team, The Ohio State University · 2018–2020
I supported OpenVA workshops for country statisticians and other public-health analysts using verbal-autopsy data. As a teaching assistant, I provided hands-on R coding guidance and helped participants move from interview records through automated cause assignment to interpretable mortality results.
The workshops strengthened practical capacity to work with verbal-autopsy data in settings where many deaths occur without medical certification and routine cause-of-death information is limited.
